Verse Of The Day

Killah Priest ft.Nas,Kurupt - Gun For Gun[Tek Nizzle Remix]

[2nd Verse}

What did Malcolm think, split second 'fore he was shot?
Did he think to hit the deck on the floor, before he dropped?
Or did he just say "Fuck it, I'ma die for my brothers"
'Cause by killin' him, just made his words teach others
Like Martin Luther King, he preached peace
They still got him, like the West-East beef
Finally that shit is rotten
Place your self in the shoes of a people's leader
From drug kingpin to president, either is off the meter
Your best man can turn to the squeezer
Burn you and leave ya, beside alone on the road
Or inside a meat freezer
That's the way it goes on the third rock from the Sun
Alone circlin' the light where we begun
Where we become, a follower to a general
With soldiers to run, they move off every word of ya tounge
Feelings are ruthless, when you was young pullin' ya gun
Not scared to shoot shit, remember it was all in the fun
Is this the power you wanted? Can you control over a hundred minds?
And these are grown men, who've killed over a hundred times
Every champ team has a arch rival
And it takes one time to mess up and niggaz don't like you
You start to want peace, niggaz want you deceased
Your money low, niggaz want you to go
Who else but I can bring the most hauntin' flow (Nas)
You're soon to see the best of me
From a boy, man, to a king, hear out my destiny

Donwill + suhBURB = Suburban Sprawl

Yes my boy & member of one of my favs, Donwill of Tanya Morgan finally releases Suburban Sprawl with suhBURB. He's been talking about this album for a while finally we will get to experience the entire thing. This is what he had to say via his blog and below that is the tracklisting.

Donwill said: a while back i decided that i would make my birthday my release date for all those *pending* projects that i have been talking about since some of you met me. if you know me you can ramble off at least 3 albums that are in various phases of finish that are ‘coming out’ sometime in the future. well im kickstarting that this year.

the album has been done for months, sittin on my hard drive. i even have 2 videos that were shot for the project that nobody has ever seen. that will change on june 4th. it will be released via my blog, for free.

aside from my hang ups the hold up has been a few things. the first thing was that i wanted to try and secure an official means of distribution for a while but that kinda got sidetracked in part to securing an official situation for the next few tanya morgan releases. then it became me not wanting to drop a project around the same time as a tanya morgan project because i wanted ppl to focus in on one thing. the main reason it hasnt been ready is because the people who i asked to do cuts on certain songs still havent turned them in due to their schedules and you know as an artist you want your vision fully realized right?

well fuck all that shit man… im givin it to yall on june fourth. it will be available in my downloadable discography section for free download and the video will be ‘premiered’ in my videoblogs section. There will also be full liners available for the release.

Tracklisting:

The Tiki Torch
Sittin at the Bar (og demo) - *not* feat tanya morgan

12. Desperada
13. Smashmouth (Feat K-Hill, Edgar Allen Floe And Joe Scudda)

I've waited for this moment to hear the fully mastered version and I'm glad. This album can easily be considered for Album of The Year. This week I heard two of the dominate Femcees in the game, Jean Grae & Invincible. Well both are great albums. I decided to do Jeanius first since I love Jean Grae so much. I'll do Invincible a lil later. Anyway the production is superb as 9th works the board & Jean spits rapid fire constantly. Very brief but delivers the point. Every song is listenable. Standout tracks are well all. Every will interest a different person. My personal favorites are the The Time Is Now, Billy Killer, Number Eight, American Pimp. But the whole album is great but I the last track could have went a lil harder. I Thought we would get something like Kooley High's Water. Oh Well..Here is some audio for those who haven't heard.

The Time Is Now (Feat Phonte)

Number Eight

Think About It

Love Thrist

Hopefully we'll see more 9th & Jeanie. But after you hear this is kinda not likely.

Will Jeanie Retires, I Think So!

Some four years after a rough version of Jean Grae's Jeanius album produced by 9th Wonder leaked to the internet, an official version has been released today by Blacksmith Music on iTunes. We caught up with Jean yesterday who is quoted as saying "someone please send me a copy of my album, I want to hear it."
While Jean stands by her statement that she has retired (jokes of a farewell event were being tossed around, or maybe those weren't jokes), she did reveal that in April she was down in Miami shooting a video with friend, winner of the 2006 Jean Grae Needs a DJ contest, DMC USA, Scribble Jam and Gong World Supremacy champion, DJ I-Dee. The song is called "Victory Fanfare" and is the first single off I-Dee's upcoming album Solitude to be released on August 26th on Roc-Raida's Adiar Cor label. Solitude also features Royce Da 5'9" and C-Rayz Walz, among others.

At the end of the day, we don't really know all the factors that sway the choices J. Greezy makes. After all, it is her business. What we do know is that we are talking about an exceptionally talented individual who still has yet to receive the shine she truly desrves, in an industry that seemingly doesn't care. Ms. Grae did say that if there has been anything that could restore her faith in hip-hop, it's Busta Rhyme's latest smash "Don't Touch Me." I could see the sheen in here gleam. I don't think she's done yet...

9th Wonder Interview With XLR8R

XLR8R: Your new album with Buckshot is called The Formula. Do you have a formula you work from in the studio?

9th Wonder: The formula is the whole idea of him coming to North Carolina and working. He flies down, gets a hotel, and I pick him up the same time everyday. That sets the mind frame for when we go into the studio together. He’ll be working on and writing to a beat I already made, and I’ll be making new ones. We’ll record the one he wrote to and then I’ll burn beats I made that day. He’ll take them home, and by the time he comes back the next day, he’s written to them. That’s our formula, for the most part.

You’ve been prolific lately. Are you doing anything equipment-wise that’s helping you get the job done faster?

Not necessarily. There’s no magic machine that cuts the time down. It’s still the same process. I’ve been prolific since the first time you heard me. You might have heard [Little Brother’s] The Listening first, but we recorded that at the same time I did [L.E.G.A.C.Y.’s] Project Mayhem. He’d come in and do a record and then Phonte and Pooh would do a record. Shoot, I still probably got six, seven albums nobody’s ever heard, so I’ve been prolific.

Do you still work on a PC?

It’s the same set-up I’ve always had, except I was using Cool Edit and now I’m using Pro Tools to record. I know some people make beats in Reason on a Mac, but I’m still in Fruity Loops [now sold as FL Studio] on a PC. I say all the time, it don’t matter what you use. If you can’t jump, Jordans aren’t going to make you dunk. If you can’t hear how a record is supposed to be chopped, or understand chord progressions, no machine is gonna make you know that. Whether you use Reason, Pro Tools, Acid Pro, Cakewalk, Fruity Loops, it all boils down to when you drop a needle on that record, man, and listen for that sample. Some cats got all the equipment in the world and skip over the best samples.

What do you like about Fruity Loops for samples?

I liked Fruity Loops [initially] because it was cheap. MPCs was two grand when I was in college. In 1973, when they took all the money out of New York public schools for arts and music, kids [went to] the corner, set up turntables, and threw parties. I’m not gonna not make music because I can’t afford an MP. I didn’t choose Fruity Loops to sample–that’s the only choice I had. If I’d have never said anything, nobody would’ve ever known. But the fact that it’s a $50 program that you download off Kazaa and I [won] a Grammy off of it fucks with some people, man. The Erykah Badu “Honey” joint is a Fruity Loops beat from five years ago. Hip-hop purists say, “He ain’t no real beatmaker, he ain’t working on an MP.” These same motherfuckers ain’t got no friends. I don’t hear that from Just [Blaze or] Pete [Rock]. I ain’t never heard that from Premier.

Do you mostly find yourself making made-to-order beats for artists, or do you generally bring finished beats and have them pick and choose?

The Destiny’s Child joints were made to order. Out of the 13 joints on this album with Buckshot, I’d say seven or eight are made-to-order beats. Same with the Murs records, Jean Grae. You know what happens? I’ll make beats to order for an artist I’m doing an album with, and then go back and find old beats that fit those, so it sonically sounds like an album.

Verse Of The Day: Doctor's Advocate

Artist: The Game f/ Busta Rhymes
Album: Doctor's Advocate
Song: Doctor's Advocate

[Verse Three: Busta Rhymes]
See when the world is on your shoulder.. and the stress grows bigger
The fire in 'em, made it difficult to talk to the nigga
Most of the time I let 'em know.. I dont agree wit' what he do
But he a hardhead Dre.. thats why I'm talkin' to you
See.. when I first met my nigga.. son was layin' in the cut
Type reserve, homie was quite and kept his mouth shut
Until you told him to spit for me, he flippin' from the gut
I dug his spirit, and I thought the dude was talented as fuck
As time went on, now he was workin' with the finest
I saw the pressure started to build, so I gave 'em additional guidance
You gave him something that can make or break a nigga.. you should face it
So big, I don't even think he was ready to embrace it
With the potential to be a strong nigga with conviction
The only was.. our little nigga wouldn't listen
But when Doc say its a wrap (its a wrap)
Its still Aftermath
And ain't nothing after that...

"How Y'all Doing Tonight?"

Sometimes hearing an artist perform live really conveys the emotion and vibe of a song,But to me it gives much more then that it gives you a feel for the artist themselves.

Hailed as the price of Neo-Soul,D'Angelo has been making songs that have enough soul and honest feeling that they can be played 50 years from now and still have the same impact. If you haven't heard Brown Sugar,Do so...NOW!, Then come back and finish reading this.

Live at the Jazz Cafe, London is a small delight being only 38:56 long all together but don't let that fool you,It's a fantastic CD.

Rather hard to find CD being a Japan Import only, If you come across this, do not hesitate to pick it.

Fun Fact:Angie Stone is singing background vocals.

Tracklisting:

1. Me and Those Dreamin' Eyes of Mine

2. Can't Hide Love
3. Cruisin'
4. Shit, Damn, Motherfucker

Danny! Hip Hop Loves You! (no homo)

Danny! said:::So I'm literally knee-deep in And I Love H.E.R.'s, right (my place is like a warehouse right now)...

All the personal sh*t that's transpired over the course of this year and delayed this album more times than I would've liked it to has finally (and seemingly) subsided, soooooooooo...

Give me two weeks amigos, and And I Love H.E.R. will be made available for purchase. Yow.

Here's the thing though...

When you're doing this sh*t all by your-f**kin'-self, and retail distribution agreements are broken because you've failed to make their deadline TWICE, you usually don't get third chances. They don't care that Danny Is Dead sold considerably well with little (read: none) promotion, and they certainly don't care that, among many many other things, someone stole your car a mere week before your second deadline.

Having said that, And I Love H.E.R. will be available in all of the digital outlets that my other albums are on (Amazon, iTunes, Napster, eMusic, etc.) within the next two or three weeks, but...if you're looking for a physical copy in the retail stores that formerly sold Charm and Danny Is Dead, you'll be hard-pressed. Eventually it will be (these distro companies need the album AT LEAST four weeks in advance, and even that's a stretch), but in the meantime when a physical copy of And I Love H.E.R. becomes available for sale in about two weeks you'll only be able to cop it from CD Baby.

No big deal, right? If you'd rather wait another month to cop it from Best Buy then so be it, but you'd be better off copping it from CD Baby for the time being. Just sayin'. In the brief three or four days that pre-ordering was available for And I Love H.E.R. (right before I missed my deadline again), the numbers were somewhere in the thousands. I'd literally have just enough to sell before being back-ordered.

I have never dealt with so many personal things all at one time like I have been throughout 2008's entirety, and I really appreciate y'all sticking with me throughout these ridiculous ordeals. Pea! Thanks for checking on a brotha, I was really goin' through it my dude. Young H! You will not be disappointed, I swear. Alanna! Thank you for the encouragement, support and random references to Styx. Yes, I was aware I'm holding your imaginary hand :) Thanks to everyone for helping me get through my sh*t, indirectly or otherwise, so that this album can finally come out. Huge thanks to the blogs, the magazines...I'm so happy I just might do some crazy sh*t. An album sampler MP3, perhaps? Hmmmm. Maybe I'll finally put out Dream, Extinguished. Maybe not.

So, long story short: And I Love H.E.R. Coming soon. CD Baby (for now). iTunes, et. al. (forever). Two more weeks. For real this time. Sentence fragments rock. Word life, gawd. I love y'all. No homo.

Truthfully man. Your great. Your music is amazing. Just keep your head up! Don't stop what your doing. You'll be rewarded in the end by your hard work.

The Cool Kids....."all you kids get your car system game up or we will damage your shit... lol"

We'd like to thank alllllllll yall who went and downloaded the EP off itunes.. The Cd will be available in stores for you to buy june 10th.. (dont ask me why........ music buisness stuff.. i guess) Hit the stores up too.. for all those asking why the bake sale only has two new songs..

1. The Bake Sale is just the official release of all the joints weve made that have been floating around the internet for the past year or two.. its not our First Album! its more like a compilation. We wanted to give kids what they asked for..

2. The New Joints were to give people something new to put in their car systems.. i pod.. cellphones.. turntables.. just to have new Cool Kids shit for the summer.

and just an FYI.. We are halfway into "When Fish Ride Bicycles" .. and we want to show all everyone out there... how we get it done.. so in a couple weeks we will be airing video blogs...showing us in the studio.. cutting shit up.. basically just documenting us making this adventure in which we call "When Fish Ride Bicycles"..
it'll be on our site CoolxKids.com..

So again the Word of the day is.. (NOTHING)hahahahahaha

but THANKYOU EVERYONE!!!! for digging the music.. and supporting us

Verse Of The Day

Diamond D - When It Pours It Rains

[1st Verse]

Niggaz be like D B on some old throwback shit

I scoop your little birdie on some Bobby Womack shit

The best you ever heard fuck that you know that shit

Perpendicular to most with the flow that's sick

Lookin sporty in the 740 (aight) put the G on the shorty

even if I'm tore down from a 40

No advertisement or chastisement

The ice on my neck make the honey's eyes squint

Every chance I get, from the stance I pick

Flick your ass on the floor like a cancer stick

No more, jokes and games, I hope to claim

I want, boats and planes, ice ropes and chains

When it, pours it rains, so I'm weatherin the storm

Been away for three joints and still better than the norm

Yo I'm deep rooted, for this here, I be zooted

I do it to you all night girl, when I be booted

Find out, have you screamin time out

Your big lover man chillin with the shine out

Girl I blow your mind out, we can wine and dine out

Reclined on my system, Alpined out..

Delegrates finalized for Oregon still no winner....

A week after Oregon's Democratic primary, the top two candidates have divvied up delegates that'll help decide the presidential nomination.

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama won 31 of Oregon's 52 delegates, giving him a total of 1,978. The winner must collect 2,026 to capture the Democratic presidential nod.

New York Sen. Hillary Clinton won the remaining 21 delegates. She now has commitments from 1,780 delegates.

Of Oregon's 52 delegates, 34 are apportioned by congressional district and 18 are apportioned by statewide totals. Obama won 11 statewide delegates and 20 congressional district nods. Clinton won seven statewide delegates and 14 congressional district representatives.

The candidates are preparing for the June 1 Puerto Rico primary, which has 55 delegates at stake. The primary season ends Tuesday, June 3 with primaries in South Dakota and Montana. The two states have a combined 47 delegates at stake.

Obama won Oregon's May 20 primary with about 60 percent of the vote.

Serious dude needs 48 more delegrates while Hilary needs over 200.....When will it stop? This is getting ridiculous.

Verse Of The Day: Call The Law

Artist: OutKast f/ Janelle Monae
Album: Idlewild
Song: Call the Law

Oh baby its mo baby its workin on the 6
We was only in our teens I dreamed for simplistic
Jumped the broom but it seems I tripped I must have slipped
After exchanging of the rings these things you give me lip
But not the kissing of the bride the dipping of the groom
The shit that make a nigga up and leave up out a room
More like "boohoo" then "boo" "fuck you" and "fuck you too"
(Fuckin bitch) Kids cover them ears
It appears that ya mama want drama we need a comma
Or some space between words for better or for worse
This is not what I deserve the worse that I can take
Actually I want the cake and eat it too and plus yo plate
But wait now.. Don't you get the house kids cars
Everything we built together was ours now it's all yours
Thats hard... It's all yours... Good God!

Spotlight Album: The Old Prince

Shad - The Old Prince

01. Intro
02. I Don't Like To
03. What We All Want
04. Brother Watching
05. Now A Daze
06. The Old Prince Still Lives At Home
07. Out Of Love Part Two
08. Interlude
09. I Heard You Had A Voice Like An Angel
10. Compromise
11. Exile
12. Get Up
13. Outro

My Thoughts
Shad is a virtually unheard of artist out of London. Full name being Shadrach Kabango. Shad might have missed my "They Are The Future" list. He still deserves alot of attention that he still doesn't get especially having one of the better album of 07. Mostly cause he is from outside of USA. Anyway this album has great production as you'll probably take note of that very early in the album while Shad lyrically you won't be impressed till "Brother Watching". Shad is very sincere with his concepts and lyrics. Nothing is really missing from this album. But some of the songs kinda ride the mediocre line so they just blend in and don't stand out. Still Shad delivered a great effort and I strongly recommend everyone to cop or least check it out....

Verse Of The Day

Artist:Block McCloud
Song:Show U
Album:Spittin' Image

[1st Verse]

You can't hold me back And you know it's fact
I'm just so relaxed with it, I'm about to blow this sack
I'm where the show is at, I'm where the flow is at
I'm where the pretty woman you don't call "Hoe" is at
My wifey there,Shaking her hips while sippin' cognac
She might be hating but waiting till we get home with that
Cause lately she handle it better
The Glamor
The Glitter
The Fans and the chickens
The Cameras
The Pictures
While I struggle to handle the liqour,That damage my liver
But kills the panic attack that I'm stricken with as I stand and deliver
I live my life day by day,Made mistakes now we say are grace
Before the place gets ate in his place
Trying to appreciate and relate instead of hate and debate
Religion sucks,So I create a new faith
If you pray to the rhythm, The next great flood you will float
My body is the drum
My blood is the flow

Camu Tao Dies From Lung Cancer

On stage in Minneapolis, Minnesota Sunday evening, Aesop Rock announced that emcee Camu Tao had died after a three year bout with cancer. The Columbus, Ohio native born Tero Smith, was just less than two weeks away from his 31st birthday.

Truly sad news.....RIP Camu Tao

All the Def Jux fans know him and I recommended those who don't check him out...

Verse Of The Day: Bomb 1st

Artist: Royce Da 5'9"
Album: Death is Certain
Song: Bomb 1st

Nigga get in ya car, if he pissin you off
Get him, I don't wanna picture you pausin, cuz
With you from the peddle to the floor
From the shevel to the fo' fo' the devil only showed up for show
Turn this up, turn off your phone
And leave the "you wanna talk peace?" at home
Faces corps or face them in court
If you don't face 'em you gon' pay yo safety is short
I got a babe to work for the courts
I'ma license plate number away from the front of your porch
Or the side of your house, the product of a ride or die is about
I'm the opposite of a lot of mouth It's strange y'all repent
After saying my name I'm about to change it like Prince call me
The skit master, beef with the street trash
The leafs the trees, grass at ya pad, he's mastered
Squeeze faster, instead of beatin his ass
Just let 'em have it and you can be the last one standing

In The Rotation....

Lucifer's Joyride - Kidz In The Hall feat. Travis McCoy
I don't care about who not feeling this song. Its hot and got that summer time vibe to it. I love it. Travis' verse is funny & I love Nalegde's verse.

Dope (4 Gold Rope) - Sene & Blu
Can't wait for their album to drop. But this is a little preview of what it might be like tho Blu prolly won't rap that much on it. But who knows with him.

Where You Goin? - Danny!
A Tribe Called Quest on Acid indeed. You can clearly see the influences of Tribe in Danny's production, rhymes & concepts. Song got a real smooth vibe.

There You Go - Kooley High
I continue to sing the praises of Kooley High. They are truly fly & dope. I'm still bumping their EP. Hope to hear something official like an album soon.

The Understanding - J-Live
See don't believe how good this album is. J-Live spitting over some dope production and completely destroys it.

The Bridge - Tanya Morgan feat. Elucid
The opener & title track for Tanya Morgan's newest EP, The Bridge is perhaps one of their best songs. Showing the growth from Moonlighting to now. Still don't know where Elucid is on this song.

Free - Pharoahe Monch
Old song but still a banger from Desire. People gave it bad reviews cause it was a different Monch they didn't like. While I like the album and Monch didn't completely flush his style down the toilet. But its a perfect mix.
http://www.divshare.com/download/4574112-683

Bassment Party - The Cool Kids
Still disappointed that only two song off their new EP were new. I'm feeling this one as it has a Neptune type vibe to it.

Good Money - Mickey Factz
Wtf? Mickey with 9th? Surprising but Factz is very diverse in styles. Dude continues to impress me.

Verse Of The Day: Silience

Artist: Celph Titled f/ Vinnie Paz & King Syze
Album: The Gatalog: A Collection Of Chaos
Song: Silence & I

[Verse 3: Celph Titled]
If this industry's a movie, I'm the starrin' actor
You're an assistant for the intern of the back up gaffer
But I'm only a rapper, standin' on two feet, backstage with four whores
On all fours, and that's on all tours
How long can I spit a punchline and an ill statement
And keep your attention span on my records for entertainment?
No explainin' it, you do the math, I did the math teacher
Ms. Anita spread wide, under the gymnasium bleachers
Fucka, don't matter which herb speak
'Cause we got pistols with barrels longer than Big Bird's beak
Plus the creamy white powder, yeah we sellin' to Milk D
My audio too raw for children, it's filthy
I never leave the crib without a pack of Now and Laters
I pack now, and *BLAAT* later
And ain't no playa you can find rollin' down the strip with hundred rounds and clips
Packin' MACs in the back of the Ac' on some Big Pun shit
When you hear the "click" your clique run quick, dick
We transportin' handguns in minivans; that's the "pistol whip"
Celph Titled, the gourmet chef, ripple effect
An inconspicuous spic with kitchen mittens when I'm splittin' ya neck

Verse Of The Day: Roc Boys (And The Winner Is)

Artist: Jay-Z
Album: American Gangster
Song: Roc Boys (And the Winner Is)...

Let ya hair down baby, I just hit a score
Pick any place on the planet, pick a shore
Take what the Forbes figure, then figure more
Cause they forgot to account what I did with the raw
Pick a time, lets pick apart some stores
Pick a weekend for freaking for figure fours
I figure frauds never hit a lick before
So they don't know the feeling when them things get across
Put ya hand out the window, feel the force
Feel the Porsche, hit the frost
Ice cold, jewels got no flaws
Drop got no top, you on the top floor
Pink Rosay, think OJ
I get away with murder when I sling yay
Heroin got less steps than Britney
That means it ain't stepped on, dig me?

Verse Of The Day

Slum Village - Keep On Holding

[Last Verse]

But sometimes I feel alone in these streets
against the cold of these streets my heart and soul on these streets
I lost my mom so I hold to a piece of a place
Dead a time when we both inner-twined
It was love for a fatherless son
Although he had love for a son visits were none to seldom
I was sat on a porch till the mail come
and when it came it never was a letter of my name (damn)
But moms was there for me, she held it down 'cause she cared for me
She never left even in her last path where she slept
next to death she was always at her best never stressed
That's why I love her (whispered)

The Leak 21: Good Money (Prod. 9th Wonder)

This is a dope track with Mickey Facts going in over a 9th Wonder beat. Kinda dated tho...but here you go...

Would That Be Dope....

If Danny would release his album...
If Nas stopped doing dumb things that only make sense to him..
If The Game stopped following in Nas' footsteps...
If people open their mind to listen to more then just murder murder super lyrical hip hop...
If people gave hip hop its proper respect....
If albums actual released instead of the constant pushin back
If Jean Grae would say she is just taking a hiatus ......
If Masta Ace & Ed O G really release that album
If Wordsworth would make a album
If Lauryn didn't lose her mind...
If we as hip hop fans were more opened mind to one another's opinion

Love Thrist (video)....

album finally coming out...the 8th Of July

Verse Of The Day: Halos

Artist: Hell Razah f/ Crooked I
Album: Razah's Ladder
Song: Halos

I sit in the dark with my dead homies, obituary pictures
They talk to me while I'm writin' these literary scriptures
Sayin', "Crooked, don't let the Police Military get ya"
I tell 'em, before they do I'll be in a cemetery wit ya
Militant momma, she was down with the Panthers
Picture me, a baby G in a dashiki and Pampers
I was the face of the pamphlets man, the black future
But nowadays, niggas gat shoot ya, fuck it, I clap rugers
My nina singin' like Fat Luther
Vandross, a damn boss bringin' that braat-braat to ya
COB is a religion, listen I'm in it
Everything I'm spittin' was written wit hidden symbolism in it
Infinite wisdom hittin' the intricate sentences I'm spittin'
Cryptic as hieroglyphics, thought they figured it, but they didn't
West Coast Pharaohs, killers on the payroll
20's on my chariot, dodgin' blue halos

I didn't expect such a good album though I really like J-Live but this album is great. With production from DJ Spinna, Marco Polo & Nicolay to name a few. J-Live laced the best with his excellent MC ability. Never have I heard such pure hip hop essence. J-Live really put alot into this album as you can see through the lyricism as he doesn't miss a bar. Another song has it purpose and deliver the point. This album is a banger thru and thru so I suggest everyone to cop this on May 27 cause you won't regret it. I'm ordering mine tommorow. Heres a few track that will help you get a taste of what the album is like.

Verse Of The Day

Masta Ace - Da Grind

[1st Verse]

Ay yo, I'm trying to make my dollars double
I done found a place to fit in
For niggaz trying to get into this power struggle
I work hard on the job like immigrants
And always try to get my first half in advance
It sounds strange but the rap game is not a game
You could make a lot of money gain a lot of fame
But don't get it twisted
You could get addicted
Buy a mansion in the Hamptons, and get evicted
Now if you call me and I'm not around
I'm probably putting my grind down
Doing shows out of town
I be the manager, road manager, and call handler
Booking agent, choreographer and tour planner
I be the V.P. of marketing and promotions
Producer and arraigner, with a range of emotions
And after it all, I still gotta perform
At three o'clock in the morn', when half the fans are gone
But it's fine
Been on the grind since like '88 or '89
The game is foul like a plate of swine
Now is there anybody con like me?
Is anybody out there on the grind like me?
For everybody working nine to five
For everybody trying to rise with they eyes on the prize
I'm with 'cha, we all going through it
But yo, deep down inside I know we still gon' do it
Oh

Verse Of The Day: Til Thee Angels Come (For Us)

Artist: Killah Priest f/ Blackmarket
Album: The Offering
Song: Til Thee Angels Come (For Us)

[Priest]
Look at the killers, dealers, scramblers
Hustlers, pimps, low lives
Are running police coming gunning jumping
Over fences hide in trenches
Fight defenses ducking bullets this that hood shit
Show more footage
Speak from pulpits
(Fellow Americans you are now under a new era)
We all are sinners angels watching
(A new world order)
Ain't no stopping the sky has cracked
You lie back, watch your end, burning skin turning in
Hell bound hell hounds
With scales down to their tails growl wild
Chasing us barking it darkens dropping revolvers in apartments
Here comes the marksman up the staircase
I start busting backwards slipping, Where's the pastor?
Too many distractions
9/11, signs from heaven find a weapon AK SK HKs MK
Mayday mayday mayday
Rocket launchers my project's bonkers
We sold drugs till it's over its time to close up
Yep, lets go - closure
Judgement day thugs must pray
Devils is running 'cause they realize
Something worst than hell is coming
A black bird burning down to the earth
Turning into a fire breathing dragon

Last Time Brooklyn & Cincinnati came together...

Tracklisting:
1. The Bridge (featuring Elucid)
2. We Doin' Our...
3. Filthier AKA "Place"
4. Got 2 Get Done
5. Be You (featuring Czelena)
6. Get Me Inside
7. Threemcees
8. Hip Hop Is Dead II
9. How Low (Bonus Track)

This EP is absolutely incredible. Tanya Morgan deliver something very refreshing. Easily comparable to Kooley High's Summer Sessions EP for Best EP so far. A step above what was shown on their recent mixtape. But you just know they have some crazy stuff for their next LP, Brookynati. Well The Bridge EP which I've been waiting for, for a while now has that definitely TM feel to it. Nothing is lacking on this all three MC deliver an impressive performance. Every song brings something to the table. My favorite song being the title track due the oddly familiar hook (lol) and the song with most meaning is "Hip Hop Is Dead II" as they kill the conversation we'll all at one time or another had. I know this leaked today but support Don, Von & Ill. I could have waited but I copped (bought) it off iTunes then less restricting version off Amazon so I could share it with you guys since I thought it wouldn't leak till the official release. Silly me but I don't regret it since they deserve it. Shouts to Donwill (for his insight and encouraging words that helped me alot...)

Heres some audio....

The Bridge (feat. Elucid)

Filthier AKA "Place"

Get Me Inside

Verse Of The Day: Modern Day Slavery

artist: Joell Ortiz feat. Immortal Technique
song: Modern Day Slavery
album: The Brick: Bodega Chronicles

Ain't nothing changed except the chains
That restraining our physical frame
Mentally we still living the same
Its lock down
They knock down the Towers to raise tax
Anything they burn we pay back
I live in the hood; you'll never bump into Pat Seajack
But we spin the wheel every time we chill
Cuz cops hate blacks, and Hispanics they draw gats
And just slam it before the ask where your hand is
I don't see how a wallet can be mistaken for a cannon
~So please don't let em play us no more
In everyway I'm ready, willing, and able to war
Like any day I could pop I'd be in the front
Like, please let the force be with me in this pump
Housing want me to work cuz I'm still on my mom's lease
Threatening to raise the rent if I don't pick up them park leaves
Ain't nothing in this world for free
But somehow they got us fooled that this world is free

Along with Panacea's Scenic Route, Panacea's Raw Poetic releases album with his live hip-hop band in 2007. Together they are called Restoring Poetry To Music. This isn't their first album around but my favorite. Musically beautiful this album is as Raw Poetic spitting some poetic lyric over these amazing arrangements of music. Addressing many topic these album can easily make you reminisce, dream and wonder. I love every song on this album. Definitely slept on but hopefully this will shine some light on it. This is a absolute must have for any hip-hop fan. Something that will soothe your soul.

Verse Of The Day: Crooked Officer

Artist: Z-Ro
Album: The Life of Joseph W. McVey
Song: Crooked Officer

[Z-Ro]
Too many times I done been hated on, by 5-0
Fuck your badge, I wish all of you bitches would die slow
I'm just trying to survive hoe, and feed my family
And I ain't killed nobody, but still rough is how they handle me
I ride one deep, suspended license and all
My middle finger out the window, screaming fuck the law
I know what you protect and serve, not a god damn thang
But give a nigga five years, for lessing the crowd mayn
They got me feeling Devin, tell me why they do us that way
The got me searching for the doja, in a doobie ashtray
So I can cope with it, not trying to travel up and smoke with it
My kinfolk in the maximum security, for no bidness
Sick of I'm missing you, so here's what I'm fin to do
Bounty hunting for badges, fuck a ditch I'ma dig a few
The odds are against us, because we black
So keep your heat in a stash spot, and always be strapped
